Gary D. Dickens: Gary, age 60, is married to the former Peggy Teel
Matheney of Winona, WV for 29 years. He is a 1964 graduate of Huntington East High
School, attended Marshall University and earned a B. A. in 1968 from Salem College
(now SALEM INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY) in Salem, WV. He was awarded the Albyn McIntosh
Literature Award as a Senior at Salem.
Gary began his insurance career in underwriting with the Buckeye Union Insurance
Company in Huntington, WV and continued as a Marketing Representative with the Maryland
Casualty Company of Baltimore, MD. He was chosen as the Maryland's Marketing Representative
of the Year in 1978. He began his agency career with the Von Blond-Robinson Agency
of Charleston in 1980 and worked in various agency capacities with PBC Company of
Charleston, Branch, Gunter & Sacre of Atlanta, GA, Beacon Insurance Group of
Hilton Head Island, SC and Flat Top Insurance of Charleston before joining R. L.
Golden Associates, Inc. in 1990. He formed Dickens Insurance Services in 1998 with
the purchase of the book of business owned by the Golden agency.
Catherine M. Gerichten: "Kitten" is 44, a 1981 graduate of South Charleston
High School and attended West Virginia State College in Institute, WV. She has 24
years experience in the insurance industry, beginning her career in 1982 with Commercial
Insurance Service in Charleston. She has also worked for PENCO in Charleston, Delaware
Valley Underwriters of Hurricane, WV Flat Top Insurance Agency in Charleston and
the Putnam Agency in Huntington. She joined R. L. Golden Associates in 1998 and
remained with Dickens Insurance Services after the purchase. Kitten is single and
lives in Dunbar, WV.
Kenneth N. Clark: Ken is 62 years old and married to the former Janet
Fore of Nitro, WV for 38 years. They have two daughters, Sabrina Haddad, 33, of
Versailles, KY and Kimberly Gray, 30, of Scott Depot. The Clarks have 6 grandchildren.
Ken is a 1962 graduate of Nitro High School, attended the University of Cincinnati
and earned a B. S. in 1970 from West Virginia State College in Institute, WV.
Ken began his insurance career in 1965 with the McDonough, Caperton, Shepherd and
Goldsmith Agency of Charleston, was an agent for the Lee-Marshall Agency of Dunbar,
Mountain State Insurance Agency in Montgomery and the Ramsey Insurance Agency of
Charleston prior to starting Clark Insurance Agency in Scott Depot in 1982.
Ken is also very active in the Teays Valley / Putnam County community. He presently
serves as Chairman of the Putnam County Board of Zoning Appeals and is a member
of the Board of Directors of the Tri-County YMCA. He is Past President of the Putnam
County Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of Leadership in West Virginia.
